Welcome to Gangcheng Yuan who has joined the group as a postdoc!

We welcome Alex to the group to carry out research for his honours year.

We welcome to our laboratory our undergraduate research students for semester 1 - Miri, Cindy and Robert.

We hosted some great summer students over the Christmas (summer) period. They carried out research into solar cell design, energy transfer in nanocrystal systems and nanoparticle growth.

Laurent's accepted paper on nanoparticle self-assembly describes kinetic control of the assembly process to achieve the assembly of plasmonic tetrameric isomers! Well done Laurent! (Nanoscale 2018)

Well done Simon, Hadas and Mike for the publication of "The Evolution of Size, Shape, and Surface Morphology of Gold Nanorods"! (Chem. Commun. 2018) more. Part of the story for "A Mechanism for Symmetry Breaking and Shape Control in Single-Crystal Gold Nanorods" which draws together existing literature results to present an explanation for the symmetry breaking of single crystal gold nanorods. A manuscript describing the plasmonic properties of fully topologically enclosed voids! The voids are in Aluminium. The spectra and spatial distribution of modes was investigated using EELS and are in the extreme UV! (ACS Nano 2017) more
